New primary school Nijmegen
From two outdated buildings to a new child centre
New school building necessary
Primary school De Buut in Nijmegen was housed at two locations. The school buildings were outdated and could not easily be adapted to modern standards. The school board opted for a new building. In order to fit in with the dynamic educational landscape, the Buut also wanted to develop into a children's centre: primary school, childcare and after-school care at the same location.
The new school year started extra exciting for the pupils of OBS De Buut. They arrived for the first time in a beautiful new school building, together with the after-school care and the day-care centre. De Buut moved into their new school building this summer. The school board is pleased with the delivery in time for the start of the new school year.

Future-proof accommodation through flexible construction method
Algeco realised the new De Buut building in a very short period of time. The building was developed according to the Engineer & Build method. Algeco was responsible for the complete realisation of the design (from the design stage onwards) and the construction of the building. The children's centre, built using modular construction, is in line with the trend towards flexible education. Children can work and play in small groups, but also in large groups at the same time.
Fast construction time: 7 months
The complete new building started in February and was delivered turnkey in August. The primary school has, among other things, various classrooms, learning squares, a playroom with a stage, a multimedia centre and a children's classroom. The childcare centre consists of three group rooms for children aged 0-4, including a sleeping area.
